About

Medical Humanities are the interdisciplinary relationships of the practice and learning of Medicine with the arts (literature, music, photography, movies, theater), social sciences (anthropology, psychology, sociology) and humanities (philosophy, ethics, history). The field serves as a means to foster holistic development of doctors to better serve their patients and appreciate the ‘art’ of medicine, just as much as the ‘science’.

The objective of this website by the Internal Medicine Residents of Boston University Medical Center is to-

  • Explore the moral, social and humanistic aspects of medical education and practice through an interdisciplinary approach, to understand how humanities and medicine cross paths in our lives
  • Integrate and document insights from humanities in our everyday practice of medicine
  • Organize events and activities (online and offline) and share the fun we have together!

Thereby continuing our development through these years, echoing the motto of Boston Medical Center ‘Exceptional Care without Exception’.
